Project Lifesaver

Tuesday, February 11, 2020.  Was glad I could attend Berkeley County’s Sheriff candidate forum tonight. Even though two of us will represent two different counties after the November election, we are still part of the broader community of the Eastern Panhandle and a good working relationship between all our public safety agencies is important. An attendee asked a question tonight about “Project Lifesaver.” While I wasn’t on the stage tonight to talk about my platform, I was happy to hear this question asked – as it is an important program that I’d like to bring forward as your Sheriff of Jefferson County. Project Lifesaver is a public safety, non-profit organization that provides law enforcement, EMS, and caregivers with a program designed to quickly locate individuals with cognitive disorders who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering. I look forward to talking more about this important community service to help keep some of our most vulnerable citizens safe. You can learn more about this program here:
